NetSuite introduces Autonomous Close, AI bank reconciliation and planning agents

What it does

Autonomous Close brings together agents that work in the background: one detects anomalies, another tracks the status of close tasks and their effect on results, another analyzes variances (flux) and locates the cause. It also proposes provisional accruals for expected transactions, such as fees. Bank reconciliation with generative AI extracts transaction details and matches them to the general ledger. In EPM, a planning agent answers in natural language about trends and variances and simulates scenarios, an assistant configures reconciliations and another agent drafts variance explanations. There is also an MCP-based AI connector that lets tools such as Claude query NetSuite data.

Reported result or impact

There are no figures in the source. Evan Goldberg, NetSuite’s co-founder, spoke of reaching a “zero-day” close as an aspiration; it is a stated goal, not a measured result.
