Moneypit: Andrew Childs built local double-entry books his coding agent can work in, to file his personal and small-business taxes
Andrew ChildsIndividual · Personal finance and self-employment (United States)
Andrew Childs, co-founder of Shortcut, wrote Moneypit to keep his books and file his US personal and small-business returns: a local, MIT-licensed double-entry app where Claude Code, Gemini CLI or Codex categorises transactions through a CLI and must wait for approval before changing anything. First-hand account without figures; we ran its unit tests and the CLI on fictional data.
