What it is
It exposes Odoo as tools an assistant can call: search and read records, create, update and delete (respecting per-model permissions), count, inspect fields and compute groupings and sums on the server without pulling all the rows. There is an option, which must be expressly enabled, to call business actions such as posting an invoice or confirming an order. According to the README, test mode works with any Odoo that has XML-RPC, and for production it asks you to install an MCP module that adds access controls.
What it offers, according to the source
It publishes no savings figures. What it offers is a documented and maintained bridge so that an assistant can query Odoo data in natural language, for example to ask about invoices or totals per customer without exporting to Excel.
Mind the evidence. Described by the project’s own documentation or README. It says what the project claims to do and how it is used, not that it works in your case: we have not tested it.
What has really been tested
This is the project’s own description in its README: continuous integration, test coverage and numerous stars indicate use and maintenance, but they do not prove that it works on your installation. We have not installed it or tested it with an Odoo instance, and we have not reviewed the code.
How to get started
Start on a test copy of Odoo, never in production. Install uv, create an API key for a user with minimal, read-only permissions and add the server to your client’s MCP configuration with the Odoo URL, the key and the database name. Ask read-only questions (pending invoices, totals per customer) and compare the answers with Odoo’s reports. Do not enable write or workflow actions until you have defined what the assistant may do and who reviews.
What to keep in mind
- An assistant with write permissions on the ERP can create or delete records by mistake. The level of risk is set by the permissions of the user you give it, not by the assistant.
- What the assistant queries travels to its AI provider: review its terms and data-protection rules (GDPR) before using it with real customer data.
- It is a community project: check the license (MPL-2.0), the maintenance pace and compatibility with your Odoo version.
